Introducing the SUN Behavioral Houston Women’s Program
SUN Behavioral Houston, the newest member of the SUN Behavioral Health family of psychiatric hospitals, is pleased to announce the opening of the new Women’s Program.
The new program uses evidence-based treatment for women who prefer a program that is gender-specific when seeking treatment for issues related to trauma or interpersonal difficulties. It is designed to help women who may be experiencing acute or chronic stress related to gender roles and disparity and offers psychiatric and psychological services for women who may be experiencing the following symptoms:
- Depressed mood
- Addictive behaviors
- Compulsive behaviors
- Self-harm or thoughts of self-harm
- Sleep and appetite disruption
- Mood Swings
- Risk-taking behavior
- Anxiety, persistent worry, panic attacks
- Hyperactivity or impulse control
Cognitive Behavioral therapy in a trauma informed approach is the evidence based practice used to promote personal safety and empowerment. Collaboration and choice are fostered through education and practicing new skills. Women are able to create a personal action plan for continued recovery and growth.
The SUN Behavioral Houston team works closely with referring physicians and therapists to ensure that patients receive coordinated, multidisciplinary care in a nurturing environment that fosters healing and recovery. This includes aftercare planning for continued recovery. To learn more about SUN Behavioral Houston, please give us a call at 713-796-2273 or visit us online.
